High level principles of good practice expected of everyone when consulting and or prescribing remotely from the patient

The HCPC has updated its standards of proficiency for the first time since 2015. The crucial changes have been made following an extensive period of engagement with a wide range of stakeholders, to seek views and develop standards in line with current professional practice.

The following terms are defined in the context of preceptorship.

Professional bodies typically promote the profession, represent their members and provide curriculum frameworks, training and CPD.

The standards of proficiency that radiographer must meet in order to join, and remain on, the HCPC Register. 

Our guidance says you should use your “professional judgement” to come to decisions about what is and is not within your scope of practice (the limit of your skills, knowledge and experience). But what does this “professional judgement” look like in practice?
